Cone Crusher – Best Uses

As a compression crusher, the cone type offers less material versatility than an HSI but provides exceptional control over final product sizing. For example, if set at 2” (50 mm), approximately 80% of the output will meet that exact target – a level of precision that jaw or impact crushers cannot guarantee.

Cone crushers do have lower reduction ratios and are sensitive to contamination (e.g., fines or tramp metal). Nevertheless, they are the preferred finishing crusher for producing consistent, high-quality aggregate.

• Secondary or tertiary crushing in hard rock and gravel circuits
• Pebble crushing in mining operations
• Manufactured construction aggregates
